About Vidyasiri Scholarship

The state of Karnataka has launched a new scholarship program for individuals who require financial assistance to finish their education.

This scholarship is specifically being offered by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka.

Deserving students from underrepresented groups are urged to apply for the Vidyasiri Scholarship program to receive financial assistance for continuing their education.

The time to submit scholarship application forms is now open. For the candidate to be eligible to apply for this scholarship, they must be permanent residents of the state of Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Karnataka.

2. Applicant should have pursued education in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years.

3. The candidate must fall within the backward class category and furnish a valid caste certificate as proof.

4. Applicant should have completed their graduate, postgraduate, professional, or professional postgraduate degree by the year 2019.

5. The candidate should belong to a reserved class, including SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), OBC (Other Backward Class), or EBC (Economically Backward Class).

6. Students must have achieved a minimum of 90% marks in their last qualifying examination from a government-recognized board.

7. The candidate should maintain a minimum attendance of 75% in college for the scholarship fund to be disbursed.

8. Candidates must have linked their Aadhar card to their bank account, as the scholarship amount is directly credited to the bank account.

9. For applicants under the Prakash scheme (SC/ST), the annual family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.

10. For candidates under the 2A, 3A, and 3B schemes (OBC/EBC), the annual family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources.

It is essential to emphasize that all applicants must ensure their bank account is linked with the Aadhar card.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Rewards

The scholarship program provides the following incentives:

1. There are 1000 scholarships available for students in the SSLC category.

2. Students in the Class 12 category can be awarded 500 scholarships.

3. An additional 500 scholarships are specifically allocated for candidates pursuing general courses in graduation or postgraduation.

4. Candidates pursuing professional degrees in technical, medical, and related sciences are eligible for 500 scholarships.

5. SSLC candidates receive a scholarship amounting to INR 10,100.

6. Class 12 students are granted a scholarship of INR 15,000.

7. Those pursuing undergraduate degrees are eligible for a scholarship of INR 20,000.

8. Candidates enrolled in postgraduate courses receive a scholarship of INR 25,000.

The Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship scheme directly deposits the scholarship funds into the bank accounts of the selected recipients.

Documents Required

To qualify for this scholarship, you need to provide the following documents:

1. Passport-sized color photograph.

2. SSLC Hall Ticket Number.

3. Aadhaar Card or EID Number.

4. Caste Certificate issued by the Tahsildar or Sub Tahsildar.

5. Transfer certificate (TC) issued by your school or college.

6. A scanned copy of the bank passbook linked with Aadhar.

How to Apply

To apply for the scholarship, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the Vidyasiri scholarship webpage by clicking on the provided link.

2. Scroll down and locate the student zone.

3. Identify the three categories of scholarships displayed on your screen.

4. Choose the specific scholarship you wish to apply for.

5. Click on the “Apply Online” option.

6. The SSP Scholarship Portal will appear.

7. If you haven’t registered, complete the registration process; if already registered, log in using your credentials.

8. Choose the Vidyasiri scholarship from the available list.

9. The application form will appear on the screen.

10. Fill in all the required details in the application form.

11. Upload the necessary documents as specified.

12. Review all the provided information.

13. Once you have verified the details, successfully submit the form.

14. Print a copy of the completed application form.

15. Send the printed form to the district officer responsible for your area.

To inquire about your application status, follow the straightforward steps provided below:

1. Access the official scholarship webpage by clicking on the provided link.

2. Click on the “Student Service” button.

3. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.

4. Select the “Application Status” option.

5. A new page will open.

6. Enter the required details.

7. Fill in the captcha code.

8. Click on “Get Status.”

9. Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

10. Print the application or acknowledgment for your reference.

For Printing Scholarship Details:

1. Open the Official Website of BCWD Karnataka.

2. The homepage will appear.

3. Select the “Student Services” option.

4. Choose “Know Your Application Number.”

5. The form to Print the Application/Acknowledgement will open.

6. Enter the necessary information.

7. Click on “Get Scholarship Details.”

8. The details will be displayed on the screen.

To Submit a Grievance:

1. Click on the provided link to access the official scholarship webpage.

2. The homepage of the website will open.

3. Select the “Grievance” icon on the home screen.

4. A new website called IGPRS Karnataka will open.

5. From the homepage of IGPRS Karnataka, click on the “Login” option.

6. If you are already registered, enter your login details in the popup window.

7. If you are not registered, click on “New User Registration.”

8. After registration, submit your grievance through the provided options.
