About CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is the government agency responsible for regulating postsecondary education in the Philippines.

One of its efforts to help students who are capable cognitively but have few resources is the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship program.

The CHED-Tulong Dunong Award program is a government-funded award intended to assist worthy and qualified students enrolled in undergraduate programs.

The scholarship program covers living expenses such as a monthly stipend in addition to the scholar’s tuition and other educational expenditures.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship program, applicants need to meet the following conditions:

1. Must be a Filipino citizen.

2. Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in any higher education institution in the Philippines recognized by CHED.

3. Must maintain a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 80% or its equivalent in the previous academic year for freshmen and a minimum of 85% for continuing students.

4. The combined annual gross income of parents or guardians should not exceed Php 400,000.

5. Should not have previously received any government-funded scholarship or financial assistance.

6. Must not have completed any degree program.

Application Process

The application process for the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship varies based on the location of the applicant’s school, depending on the CHED regional office. However, the general procedure involves the following steps:

1. Check the submission deadline for applications at the CHED regional office corresponding to the applicant’s school.

2. Obtain and fill out the application form either from the CHED regional office or by downloading it from the CHED website.

3. Include the following supporting documents with the application:

  • Certificate of Enrollment
  • Certified true copy of grades from the previous academic year
  • Certificate of good moral character
  • Income Tax Return of parents or Certificate of Tax Exemption

4. Submit the completed application form along with the supporting documents to the CHED regional office associated with the applicant’s school.

5. Await the announcement of the scholarship program results.
