About New Era University

The New Era Educational Institute (NEEI) started out as a high school and opened for business on June 17, 1975, in Quiapo, Manila, on Echague Street—now known as Carlos Palanca Street.

After fulfilling the requirements of Corporation Law, it was recognized in 1977 as a private, non-stock, non-profit, and non-sectarian educational institution.

Additionally, the institution changed its name to New Era College (NEC) in 1981 after receiving collegiate status from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MECS) and awarding degrees to its first 12 graduates.

Nine years after its permanent campus was established in New Era, Quezon City, NEC was subsequently granted “university” status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 1995, at which point it changed its name to New Era University (NEU).

NEU remains steadfast in its dedication to making non-traditional higher education and early childhood education programs accessible.

Its five campuses—NEU General Santos City, NEU Pampanga, NEU Quezon City (Main), and NEU Rizal—offer a broad variety of programs. The Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bulacan, which is the largest indoor arena in the world, is the venue of the institution’s graduation ceremonies.

NEU, which is home to more than 15 colleges, is committed to fulfilling its goal of providing courses that meet the demands of modern education.
