The Gates Scholarship

About the Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarships (TGS) program is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2024-2025. Annually, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grants this opportunity to 300 students aspiring to pursue studies in the United States.

TGS is an exclusive last-dollar scholarship designed for exceptional minority high school seniors hailing from low-income households.

This esteemed scholarship initiative is grounded in the belief that by removing financial barriers to college, a last-dollar scholarship can empower high-potential, low-income minority students to excel academically, complete their college education, and emerge as leaders throughout their lives.

Beyond financial assistance, The Gates Scholarship is committed to supporting scholars by actively engaging with them and their educational institutions in various capacities.

This ensures that they have access to the necessary resources and services, guiding them from the initial days of classes through graduation and the transition into their chosen careers.

Financial Advantages of the Gates Scholarships

Gates scholars will be provided funding for the complete cost of attendance, which encompasses expenses not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution or the methodology employed by the scholar’s college or university.

The covered cost of attendance includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation, and may extend to cover additional personal costs.
