About the Panjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship Program

One important project the Maharashtra government’s Directorate of Higher Education is currently overseeing is Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna 2024–2025.

Its goal is to offer financial assistance to students participating in technical, professional, or non-professional courses who are registered labor/alpabhudharak (Marginal landholder) wards.

Panjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Applicants need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for consideration:

1. Residency and Citizenship: Candidates must be residents of Maharashtra and citizens of India.

2. Enrollment Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled students at the institution they are applying to.

3. Admission Process: Admission must have been secured through the centralized admission process (C.A.P.).

4. Exclusion of Universities: Private or Deemed universities are not eligible for this scholarship.

5. Age Requirements: There are no age restrictions for candidates.

6. Income Limit: The candidate’s family income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakhs.

7. Academic Performance: Applicants must have achieved a percentage of 50% or above in the prior academic year.

8. Breaks in Education: Students who took a break of two years or more in their previous semesters are ineligible for this grant.

9. Application Categories: Candidates must have applied for admission in both the general and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyar)/Scheduled Tribe categories.

10. Previous Scholarships: Applicants should not have received a scholarship through any government of Maharashtra program in the past.

Application Form Process

The online application for the Punjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship is open to all eligible candidates. To apply for the Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship for 2024, follow the steps outlined below:

1. Visit the official website of the Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship.

2. On the homepage, choose the “Apply” option.

3. Click on the link to register as a new applicant.

4. Provide all the required information in the form and complete the registration.

5. Verify your identity using the OTP or biometric Aadhaar authentication sent to you.

6. Enter the OTP received via email or mobile phone.

7. Login using your username and password.

8. Fill out the application form in a new tab.

9. Upload the scanned documents.

10. Click on “Submit.”

11. Save a hard copy of the completed application form.

About the paperwork needed for Panjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship:

1. High School Transcript / Maharashtra SSC Alpabhudharak (Labor Certificate) Domicile Certificate Registration (Marginal Land Holder) Certificate Proof: No more than two “Beneficiaries” from the same family may apply (number valid for the applicable year).

Benefits

The selected candidates will receive rewards based on the following criteria:

1. For Professional Courses and Children of Registered Laborers/Alpabhudharak (Holders of Marginal Land):

  • Students attending schools in MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad City, or Nagpur City will be granted INR 30,000 for ten months.
  • Students attending colleges in other cities will receive INR 20,000 for ten months of study.

2. For Students with an Annual Family Income of up to 1 lakh:

  • Students enrolled in programs at institutions in MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad City, or Nagpur City will incur a cost of INR 10,000 for 10 months.
  • For students enrolled at institutions in other cities, the cost is INR 8,000 for 10 months. Note that 33% of the seats are reserved for females, and any remaining seats will be awarded to boys.

3. For Students with an Annual Family Income of INR 1 lakh to 8 lakh:

  • Students in programs at institutions in MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad City, or Nagpur City will be charged INR 10,000 for 10 months.
  • Students in programs at institutions in other cities will be charged INR 8,000 for 10 months.

4. For Non-Professional Courses:

  • Students with a family income of INR 1 lakh will receive INR 2,000 per year for 10 months.

Terms and Conditions

1. The applicant should not be utilizing any other Nirvah Bhatta benefits.

2. The candidate must be a hosteller.

3. Only two children from the same household are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
