The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) is a cutting-edge and technically proficient workforce with the goal of securing Nigeria’s security and prosperity by developing strategies to manage migration and border security effectively.

Note: There are no known offline application processes or form sales, and registration into the NIS is completely free.

The NIS Recruitment Requirements

The applicant must have met specific conditions in order to be eligible to apply for a job opening/position in the NIS. Please refer to the list of prerequisites below:

  • Basic requirements
  • Passport size photograph
  • First School Leaving Certificate
  • WAEC/Nabteb/NECO/GCE Results
  • Optional – NCE/ND/Trade Test/ RN
  • Birth Certificate / Declaration of age

General Requirements

1. Candidates must be native or naturalized Nigerians.

2. The candidate must have obtained a passing grade in at least two sittings of WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB with a minimum of four credits, English Language inclusive.

3. Candidates who want to be tradesmen must have an OND, a trade test, and a city and guild certificate.

4. Artisan women By June 1, 2023, candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 22 and traders must be between the ages of 18 and 26.

5. Candidate must be physically, mentally, and medically healthy and must not have a history of felony convictions.

6. Male applicants must be at least 1.65 meters tall, and female candidates must be at least 1.56 meters tall.

7. Your photocard, which will be presented at the screening center, must be printed.

8. No candidate is eligible for any kind of computer-based pre-selection test.

9. There are no designated recruitment centers.

10. There won’t be a CBAT exercise using computers.

11. All applications will be screened in their state.

12. The NIS strongly disapproves of forgery in any form, and if it is uncovered, you will be turned over to the police for punishment.

13. Candidates who have been shortlisted must go to their respective states of origin for the screening process.

14. At the Nigerian Immigration Service Training School, the chosen candidates will undergo a six-month intensive training program and receive documentation.

After completing their six months of training, successful recruits will be commissioned into the military and subsequently inducted into the North East Theater Operations.

They will receive intensive training on human trafficking and freight management here, which is required.

2. Select the appropriate category based on your application: NISSC for graduates or NISJS for tradesmen.

3. Enter your first name, a valid phone number, and email address.

4. Afterwards, click on the “proceed” button.

5. Verify your account by checking your email and following the instructions provided.

6. Once verified, proceed to fill in your personal details as required.

7. Thoroughly review the job requirements for the specific position you are interested in.

8. Complete the application form by providing the necessary credentials.

9. Once you have finished, submit the application form.

10. Don’t forget to print your photo card and any other required forms.
