About CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship 2024

The Kerala government’s Directorate of Minority Welfare has developed a new program to give female students from minority groups—including Muslims, Converted Christians, and Latin Catholics—access to higher education. 

Financial assistance will be given to students pursuing their first year of graduation under the CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship. 

The primary goal of the initiative is to give them the chance to finish their education without having to worry about money. To apply under this program, all interested parties must go to the Directorate of Minority Welfare’s official website.


Objective Of CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship

As everyone is aware, a large number of female students are unable to continue their higher education because of precarious financial situations. 

Dropout rates among female students from minority communities are caused by a lack of funding. In light of this, the Kerala government’s Directorate of Minority Welfare has introduced the Muhammad Koya Scholarship, a brand-new program. 

The program will give the girl’s student financial support if they wish to pursue higher education. 

The major goal of this scholarship program is to give girls’ students access to higher education so they can pursue their education without worrying about money.

Benefits of the Scholarship

The following are the advantages of this scholarship: Girls who are awarded the CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship are eligible to receive social security benefits.

  • Scholarships will assist students in covering their course or admission costs.
  • By doing this, the interests of students from minority communities will be protected.
  • The scholarship amounts will only be awarded to students who identify as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jainites, or Zoroastrians (Parsis).
  • The scholarship amounts will be available to applicants as a one-time payment.
  • Students will receive financial aid of Rs. 5,000 for their UG degrees or courses.
  • Students who are pursuing professional courses will receive Rs. 7,000/-every year.
  • Students will receive an equal share of educational services.

  • The payment of college expenses will be available to students.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship 

The Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship for 2023 is exclusively open to female students belonging to underrepresented groups.

The scholarship is open to female Keralan students who are enrolled in their first year of a bachelor’s degree. The following are the specifics of the eligibility requirements for the Ch. Muhammad Koya scholarship: 

  • The candidates must be Kerala residents.
  • They ought to have enrolled in a government-run or government-affiliated school.
  • The female candidates ought to be from the Latino, Muslim, or Christian communities who have converted.
  • They ought to be going to college or getting their degree.
  • They had to have passed the prior qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% of the possible points.
  • The annual income of the family should not be more than INR 8,00,000.
  • The Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship is also open to applicants who have enrolled in self-financing colleges via the merit seat or after taking the common entrance exam.
  • The Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship money can only be received if they have a bank account with a nationalized bank.
  • The government-approved hostels are where the students who are applying for the hostel stipend should stay.

  • First, visit dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in, the official website for the CH Muhammed Koya scholarship.
  • On the main page, select the “CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship (CHMS)” link.
  • Please carefully read the instructions before clicking “Apply.”
  • Select “Apply Online.”
  • Make sure you carefully fill out the registration form in the new tab by providing all the required information.
  • Navigate to the “Submit” button.
  • To complete the form, print a hard copy of it.
