The Miss Georgia Southern University Scholarship Competition holds the distinction of being the oldest preliminary pageant to Miss Georgia across the entire state.

The crowned winner has the potential to advance to the Miss America competition. As the representative of the student body, Miss Georgia Southern University participates in various traditional and community events both on and off campus.

Individuals interested in participating must attend at least one information session (no exceptions) and apply.


Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility criteria for the Miss America Organization and the Office of Student Activities are non-negotiable and include the following:

1. Must be currently enrolled at Georgia Southern University with at least 12 credit hours (or 6 credit hours for graduate students) and attending classes in person during the competition.

2. Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

3. Have completed at least one semester as a full-time student at Georgia Southern University by the competition date.

4. Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.

5. Attendance at the Miss Georgia Forum Weekend is mandatory if crowned Miss Georgia Southern University.

6. Must not reach the age of 28 during the year of service.

7. U.S. citizenship is a requirement per the Miss America Organization.

8. Must be female.

9. Must not be currently married, have had a marriage annulled, or be a parent or adoptive parent.

10. Must not plan to become pregnant during the year of service.

11. Must not have multiple minor or petty offenses in the last twenty-four months.

12. No history of criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.

13. Attendance of at least one information session is mandatory.

14. Submit a complete application, contract, etc., to the Office of Student Activities by the published deadline.

15. Contestants must meet all requirements to be eligible.
