The Importance of women in science

Thanks to scientific advancements, the world now enjoys benefits that were previously unimaginable. Humanity has significantly profited from the use of the atom as a result of Marie Skodowska-Curie’s revolutionary research on radioactivity in the late 1800s.

As the world suffers from challenges from a changing climate, rising populations, food shortages, and increased energy consumption, it is more crucial than ever to maintain a competent workforce to foster innovation and productivity.

Additionally, there is a significant and growing need for knowledgeable workers in this field. Studies on nuclear technology can help nations overcome many of these problems.

The IAEA relies on a consistent flow of highly qualified technical staff to carry out its one-of-a-kind mission of accelerating and extending the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The IAEA is at the forefront of research and technology transfer. Women must be employed in this field.
