The Sitaram Jindal Scholarship program bases awards on both merit and financial need. The Jindal scholarship was established by the Sitaram Jindal Foundation.

Jindal Scholarship

A philanthropic organization in Bengaluru, with the goal of giving financial support to worthy, meritorious individuals from disadvantaged households.

Candidates must be enrolled in school from grade 11 through the post-graduate level to be eligible for the Sitaram Jindal Scholarship.

The grant also supports technical education courses for diploma and polytechnic degrees. Under this scholarship program, the chosen students may receive up to INR 3,200 per month in scholarship money.

Jindal Scholarship: Eligibility

Below are the requirements for applying for the Jindal Scholarship program, broken down by category: 

Eligibility for Category A 

  • Candidates must be in class eleven or twelve. 
  • Male applicants must have received at least 60% on the previous exam, and female candidates must have received at least 55%. 
  • Male candidates for Karnataka students must have received at least 70%, and female candidates must have received at least 65%. 
  • West Bengal residents must earn at least 60% in the case of girls and 65% in the case of boys in order to graduate from high school. 
  • After the student turns 30 years old, the scholarship will end.
  • The annual salary for people with jobs should not be higher than INR 4 lakh. 
  • For other students, the family income cannot exceed INR 2.5 lakh annually.

Eligibility for Category B

  • In the most recent exam, male candidates needed at least 45%, while female candidates needed 35%. 
  • Candidates must be enrolled in an ITI program at a private or public institution
  • The age of candidates should not exceed thirty. 
  • The candidate’s yearly income cannot be more than INR 2.5 lac. 
  • The family income should not exceed INR 4 lac annually in the case of employment. 

Category C Eligibility for (Graduation courses)

  • Male candidates must have received at least 55% of the possible points in their last exam, while female candidates needed to have received 50%. 
  • Male candidates for Karnataka students must have received at least 70%, and female candidates must have received at least 65%. 
  • The candidate’s age requirement is 30 years or less. 
  • West Bengal residents must earn at least 60% in the case of girls and 65% in the case of boys in order to graduate from high school. 
  • In the event of employment, the candidate’s family’s annual income cannot exceed INR 4 lakh.
  • In the case of other students, the candidate’s yearly income cannot exceed INR 2.5 lakh.   

Eligibility for Category C (Post Graduate Candidates)

  • The applicant’s age cannot have surpassed thirty.
  • Candidates must have received at least 60% in the case of males candidates and 55% in the case of girls candidates in the exam from the previous year. 
  • Male candidates for Karnataka students must have received at least 65%, and female candidates must have received at least 60%. 
  • In the case of employment, the minimum family income limit is INR 4 lac per year, while for other candidates, the maximum annual family income is INR 2.5 lac. 

Category D for Eligibility

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a diploma program in one of the following fields: automotive technology, computer science, civil engineering, pharmacy and physiotherapy, environmental science, or a field related to chemicals. 
  • Male applicants must have received at least 55% of the possible points, and female applicants must have received 50%. 
  • Candidates cannot be older than 30 years old. 
  • In the event of employment, the candidate’s family income cannot exceed INR 4 lac annually, and the other candidate’s family income cannot exceed INR 2.5 lac annually. 

Eligibility for Category E

  • Candidates must be enrolled in engineering, architecture, or medical courses. 
  • Male candidates must have received at least 65% in their last exam, and female candidates must have received at least 60%. 
  • MDS students are ineligible to apply for this program. 
  • The candidate should be older than 30.  
  • In the case of employment, the minimum family income limit is INR 4 lac per year, and for other candidates, the maximum family income is INR 2.5 lac per year.
  • Minimum 70% for female applicants from West Bengal and minimum 75% for male candidates from Karnataka are required.

Application Process of Sitaram Jindal Scholarship 2024

Both offline and online applications for the Jindal Scholarship are accepted. The Sitaram Jindal Foundation’s official website must be used by applicants. To apply for a Jindal scholarship online, follow the instructions below.

  • Visit the Sitaram Jindal Scholarship’s official website at sitaramjindalfoundation.org as a first step.
  • On the home page, select the “Apply for Scholarships” link. 
  • Click on “Download Application & Annexures” at the third step. The application form will open in a new tab as a PDF. Get a copy of that PDF by downloading it and printing it. 
  • carefully fill out the application form with all the information requested, including Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Address, Father’s Name, etc. Recheck every detail that was entered.
  • The fifth step is to mail the completed form to the following address: The Trustee, Sitaram Jindal Foundation, Jindal Nagar, Tumkur Road, Bengaluru 560073

Note: The foundation will only accept application forms that may be downloaded for free from its website. Separately printed application forms (from printing presses) won’t be accepted.

Documents Required

When sending their application forms to the Sitaram Jindal Foundation staff, all candidates must include a few key papers.

  • A photocopy of the most recent passing exam’s score report.
  • SSLC/HSC marks card photocopy. (If it does not contain the date of birth, any other proof of date of birth to be supplied, furthermore).
  • Candidates must submit a photocopy of their income certificate (or, in the case of Category A and B applicants, such as PUC and ITI students, a photocopy of their BPL card).
  • For category C, D, and E students—that is, graduate, postgraduate, diploma, engineering, and medical students—photocopies of the Income Certificate issued by the appropriate authorities must be submitted as instructed by the various State Governments.
  • When applying, the Income Certificate must be no older than four years. Additionally, orphans are not required to present an income certificate; instead, they must produce a copy of the death certificate for their parents.
  • Certificate pertaining to annual fees in accordance with Annexure VIII.
  • In the case of B.Sc. (Ag), B.Sc. (Forestry), BVSC, Diploma, Engineering, Medical, and MBA students, the certificate regarding students’ admission under the government’s merit quota is included in Annexure-VII.
  • A certificate from the warden or the proprietor of a private residence in accordance with Annexure-IV or Annexure-IX, as appropriate, for hostellers.
  • a certificate from a reputable organization for physically handicapped people.

For widows and Ex-servicemen:

  • PPO,
  • Ex-servicemen
  • Widow I-Card
  • Relationship Dependency Certificate.
