Aims and Objectives for JAMB Syllabus Use of English
The purpose of the Use of English syllabus for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2024 is to assist candidates in getting ready for the Board test. Its purpose is to assess the candidates’ capacity for:
(i) Use written and spoken English to communicate effectively; and
(ii) Utilize the English language for postsecondary education.
- There are three components on the syllabus:
Section A: Interpretation/Recap
SECTION B: Structure and Lexis, and
Part C: Verbal Documents
