Bright Futures Timeline

UCF initiates the awarding process for estimated Bright Futures awards in February, anticipating the upcoming academic year starting in August.

From February to the end of May, these estimates rely on UCF’s existing records, including SAT/ACT scores and high school GPA.

By the end of May, UCF will incorporate the Master Eligibility List (MEL) from the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), encompassing students who have received the Bright Futures Initial Award Letter from OSFA.

Students for whom UCF has estimated an award, but whose final determination is pending with the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), will receive notifications from UCF.

Weekly updates received from OSFA enable UCF to promptly finalize awards for students added to the list, typically within about a week of OSFA’s conclusive decision.
