About the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship

The Bikash Bhavan Scholarship, also known as the Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme (SVMCM), is a program initiated by the West Bengal Government.

This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students with limited financial resources, enabling them to pursue higher education.

The scheme supports students in Class 11, 12, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels in their educational pursuits. Interested students can submit their online applications for the SVMCM Scholarship 2024 or Bikash Bhavan Scholarship starting from July 12, 2024, through the official website svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.


Eligibility Criteria for Bikash Bhavan Scholarship 2024

Applicants for the SVMCM scholarship 2024 must carefully review the eligibility criteria established by the authorities. They must meet the criteria specified for the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship 2024-25, as failure to do so may result in the revocation of the scholarship.

1. The total annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000. Students applying from Class 11 and 12 must achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with affiliation from WBBSE or WBCHSE. Undergraduate students need to maintain a 60% aggregate mark in their degree.

2. For Diploma courses, a 60% aggregate mark from an AICTE-approved institute affiliated with WBSCT & VE & SD is required for UG level Scholarship (in the 2nd year of Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy – Lateral Entry) or affiliation by the State Medical Faculty for UG level Scholarship (in the 2nd year of Pharmacy – Lateral Entry).

3. Postgraduate Level Scholarship (General Education) necessitates 53% marks in aggregate in Graduation (Honours Subject) from any State University, while Post Graduate Level Scholarship (Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy) requires 55% marks in Graduate Courses from any State University or AICTE-approved Institute in West Bengal.

4. Girls pursuing PG in Science, Arts, and Commerce branches from State Universities in West Bengal, after obtaining a UG Degree with an aggregate of 45% marks from State Institutions, qualify for the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship 2024 as Kanyashree (K3) applicants.

These scholarships are exclusively available to eligible candidates, and they are not permitted to concurrently receive other government scholarships or grants for the same course or stage of study. However, one-time grants or assistance from host institutions or other sources will not preclude students from benefiting from the scholarship scheme.

Document Required

Below is the list of documents required to submit while applying for the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship.

For Fresh Application:

1. Mark sheet of Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent (Both sides)

2. Mark sheet of last Board/Council/University/College examination (Both sides)

3. Admission receipt

4. Income certificate of family

5. Domicile certificate as Aadhaar ID/Voter ID/Ration card/Certificate Issued by concerned authority

6. Scanned copy of Bank Passbook (1st Page, containing A/C No. and IFSC)

How to Submit Online Application for Bikash Bhavan Scholarship

Before completing the form, students should review all guidelines and eligibility criteria for the SVMCM scholarship 2023. Following that, follow the application procedure outlined below to submit the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship application:

1. Visit the official website at wbmdfcscholarship.org.

2. Click on the ‘Student’s panel.’

3. Next, select ‘Fresh Registration.’

4. Choose the district, and the registration form will then appear.

5. Complete the registration form to obtain login credentials.

6. Login using the provided credentials and fill out the remaining registration form.

7. Upload the required documents in the specified format and size.

8. After successfully uploading the documents, review the application and submit it.

9. Once the application is submitted, students are not permitted to edit it. In the event of any issues, students can contact the relevant HOI/DI for necessary modifications.
