The Department of Welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) under the Punjab state government has initiated several initiatives on the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Portal.

This opportunity is available to residents of Punjab falling within the SC and OBC citizenship categories. The state government aims to provide financial assistance for higher education to deserving individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Students from various grades and specific groups can also apply for additional Punjab scholarships in conjunction with the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship programs.

The application deadline for the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship 2024 is October 30, 2024, and interested candidates should submit their applications before this date.


Bhim Rao Ambedkar Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The Punjab government provides the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship to residents of Punjab from economically disadvantaged SC and OBC categories. Eligibility for the post-matriculation Dr. Ambedkar scholarship in 2024 for SC and OBC students includes the following additional criteria:

1. Annual family income for SC students should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

2. Applicants must be SC members and Indian citizens.

3. Students changing their field of study after completing one or more educational levels are ineligible.

4. The Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship 2024 is accessible to applicants pursuing postgraduate medical programs, provided they are not currently practicing medicine.

5. Candidates interested in correspondence or remote study are also eligible.

6. The student must have completed Class 10 and be enrolled in an approved institution’s post-matriculated or post-secondary program.

7. No additional scholarships should be concurrently awarded to applicants.

8. Receiving pre-examination coaching funded by state or federal governments are not eligible for the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Government of Punjab program.

1. A digital copy of the caste certificate.

2. Proof of Indian citizenship.

3. Documentation verifying the family’s income.

4. A copy of the diploma or high school certificate.

5. A replica of the bank passbook.

Application Process

The application process for the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship is conducted online. Interested candidates are advised to complete the online application on the portal within the specified timeframe to prevent rejections. The detailed application process is as follows:

1. Visit the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Portal to initiate the application.

2. For new user registration on the scholarship portal, select the ‘Student Registration’ tab. Upon successful registration, a user identification number and password will be generated.

3. Log in as a registered student by clicking on “Registered Students’ Login” and entering the assigned user ID and password for the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship site.

4. Access the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship application by clicking on “Apply for Scholarship.”

5. Enter all required information into the application form.

6. Before submitting the Dr. Ambedkar application form, carefully review all entered information for accuracy. Click the “Register Scholarship Application form” button to complete the process.

7. To upload supporting documents needed to verify the applicant’s credentials, use the tab on the left side of the application form.

8. Print out the completed application and send it, along with all attested supporting documentation, to the designated institute.


Renewal Process

To qualify for the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship, both new applicants and those seeking renewal must first register on the portal. On the official website, candidates can find the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar scholarship application. The renewal process is outlined as follows:

1. The scholarship candidate should visit the website and choose “New Registration.”

2. Login using the provided Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship login details.

3. Select the ‘Renewal Applications’ tab for the specific year.

4. After entering all personal details, create a new user identification number and password.

5. Use the newly generated credentials to log into the portal.

6. Complete the scholarship application by entering information such as the merit score from the previous year, attendance details, etc. Any other necessary information can be updated at this stage.

7. Click “Submit” to send the renewal request form after uploading all required documents.
