ADTW Scholarship: Candidates from minority communities who live in Tamil Nadu State are eligible to apply for the highly coveted Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare scholarship.

ADTW Scholarship

Students who identify as members of minority communities, such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Muslims, Parsis and Jain, etc., can now apply online for the ADW Scholarship in order to receive financial assistance and support.

Students will be able to enroll in pre- and post-matric classes from grades 1 through 12 as well as UG courses leading to a Ph.D.

The TN ADW Scholarship covers about twenty-three different programs or scholarships for students from minority or Adi Dravidar, tribal, and Adi Dravidar communities who have converted to Christianity.

The amount of the variable scholarships will vary for each student. Hostel accommodations, awards or prizes, fee reimbursement, and free textbooks are a few of the amenities provided.

Objectives Of ADTW Scholarship

The primary goal of the ADW Scholarship program is to offer social security or welfare to students from underrepresented communities, enabling them to continue their education or pursue degrees with the aid of scholarship funds.

Additionally, this will benefit the tribal welfare of the students residing in these communities. 

Promoting higher education among students from the Minority, ST, and SC communities is another goal of the ADW Scholarship program, as it will enable them to advance their educational status in the social hierarchy.  A certain amount of scholarships will be awarded each year.

Features of the Scholarship

The following are the features of this scholarship: The State Government of Tamilnadu has introduced the ADW Scholarship. 

  • Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Scholarship is another name for this scholarship.
  • About 23 ancillary scholarship programs are included.
  • The student must belong to the state of Tamilnadu.
  • The scholarship amounts will only be awarded to students who are members of Adi Dravidar, Tribal, Adi Dravidar converted to Christianity, or Minority communities. 
  • College and school students will be accepted as eligible applicants.
  • The students will receive an annual scholarship of Rs. 8,000/-to pursue a professional degree or course of study. 
  • The deadline for online applications for the ADW Scholarship is March 15, 2023. 
  • On January 6, 2023, these registration forms will open for the first time.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship program, a candidate must meet the following requirements: they must be a member of the SC/ST, a minority Muslim, or a Christian convert.

They must have lived in Tamil Nadu their entire lives, for more than five years.

Candidates may apply for the ADW scholarship if they are enrolled in classes I through Ph.D.

Candidates must reside more than five kilometers from their place of education or employment in order to be considered for ADW hostels. However, girls are exempt from this condition.

For female candidates, it may be five kilometers from the place of residence to the school or college.

The annual income of the family should not be more than INR 2,00,000.

Those who wish to attend prestigious universities must have passed the prior qualifying exam.

The pupils ought to have attended government, GTR, Adi dravidar Welfare, or government-aided schools.

Students who wish to use the ADW scholarship to study classes XI and XII at reputable universities should make sure their family’s annual income does not exceed INR 1,00,000.
